Johanna Linner Matikka

As a solid expert on challenging life experiences and recovery from them, Johanna Linner Matikka examines the construction of well-being with a systemic approach. An individual’s chances to succeed and flourish depend on factors that are both communal and societal. A good life and growth as a person is built in relation to other people, because from infancy to adulthood we are connected to each other.

Johanna’s passion is to support the building of sustainable well-being for people and society. A sustainable future is achieved by strengthening human rights, supporting agency and inclusion, and investing in humanity. Johanna sees future success as operators who invest in eco-social sustainable development and social responsibility. In his speeches, he combines science, philosophy and everyday experiences in an inspiring way. In his training, he also uses experiential and physical methods.

TRAUMA-INFORMED PRACTICE – Johanna and Tiia Hipp’s functional information book achieved the status of best-selling information book after its publication in the spring of 2023. Trauma-informed practice promotes both the professional’s well-being at work and the client’s ability to function, cope with difficulties and recover. The central starting point of the encounter is nurturing and strengthening the feeling of safety. When the client receives appropriate support and information, he begins to understand the effects of his harmful life experiences, but also finds the hope of recovery. Professionals also face challenges in their lives, and the profession does not protect anyone from suffering. A trauma-informed approach strengthens hope and the experience of safety in all of us.

SEURAA PUNAISTA LANKAA (“Follow the red thread”) – Johanna’s second non-fiction book was published in 2020. The book deals with the construction of professional usage theory and human growth. When we are used to thinking that the work role protects our private self, we are fully present in the work role as well. We carry with us a life story, which is an individual mixture of experiences, values, attitudes, beliefs, learned theories and practices, likes and wishes. In the everyday situation, these all affect our operations as much as opinions and knowledge gained from work experience.

MUUTOKSENTEKIJÄ (“A Change-maker”) – towards a revolution of gentleness is Johanna’s first book, which was published in the fall of 2019. A change-maker is a visionary actor who dares to question the status quo. The larger part of us dares to act for sustainable change, the more surely a good tomorrow will come true – threatening images will change to hope.
